Chief Letterman Retires After 23 Years of Service
After 23 years as Birch Run's Fire Chief, James Letterman has retired from the Birch Run Township Fire Department. Altogether, Letterman spent 33 years serving the community as a member of the department. In his role as chief, he saw the fire department grow from handling 171 runs in 1987 to 564 runs in 2010. The members of the fire department express their deep gratitude to Chief Letterman for his years of instruction, guidance and service.
