Birch Run's First Fire Chief
Birch Run Township Fire Department was chartered in 1941 as a volunteer fire department. Our current members are on a paid on call status.
In addition to firefighting, our department also provides medical care at the Medical First Responder (MFR) level.

Are you interested in becoming a member of the Birch Run Township Fire Department?
Applicants must be 18 years or older and live within the township borders.
Members are required to become certified by the State of Michigan as Medical First Responders and as Firefighters within one year of joining the department.
